Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

Green Peel is a herbal peel from Dr. Schrammek. A blend of crushed herbs is massaged into the skin. The herbs stimulate circulation and the renewal of the top layer of the skin. The skin flakes for a few days afterwards, depending on the strength, and becomes smoother and fresher.

  • The classic version is taken one to four times a year.
  • Milder versions can be taken more often, following the practitioner's advice.

  1. The practitioner assesses your skin and chooses the strength.
  2. The skin is cleansed.
  3. The herbal blend is massaged into the skin.
  4. The skin is cared for, and you get advice for the next days.

  • Avoid retinol, acids and scrubs for a week before.
  • Avoid tanning and self-tan for the last two weeks.
  • If you have had cold sores, tell the clinic before treatment around the mouth.

The treatment takes about an hour.

Experience & Recovery

Pain level, downtime and healing

Most people rate it 2–4 out of 10. The skin prickles and warms as the herbs are massaged in.

  • Common: redness, stinging, tightness and flaking.
  • Uncommon: spots or dryness.
  • Rare: darker pigment, especially in dark skin, blisters, infection or a cold sore outbreak.

  • Use a mild cleanser, moisturiser and a high-factor sunscreen.
  • Do not peel off flaking skin.
  • Avoid retinol, acids and scrubs for a week.
  • Avoid sun, sunbeds and saunas until the skin has settled.

Usually 3–5 days of flaking. The skin becomes red and prickly for the first hours. After a few days it flakes. With the classic version, you should not wear make-up for the first days.
